Trin’40 : 1,200 miles of pure commitment
Departure on Friday, 24 April 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Some races are born with a promise. The Trin’40 is one of them.
Setting sail from La Trinité-sur-Mer, Class40 skippers embark on a 1,200-nautical-mile solo race. Alone facing the ocean, alone facing their choices. There is no room for approximation here: every decision counts, every manoeuvre matters, every weather option can tip the balance of the race.
Part of the Class40 Solo Trophy calendar, the Trin'40 offers a technical and demanding course, designed to reveal the talent of the sailors. More than a pure speed event, it is a challenge of consistency, lucidity and endurance. Sailing fast, yes. But above all, sailing right. Knowing how to preserve your boat, anticipate weather systems, manage fatigue and stay on course in sometimes challenging conditions: that is the real challenge of this new event.
A new chapter for the Class40
The Trin'40 was created with a clear ambition: to establish a major solo event for Class40 boats. This first edition lays the foundations for a format that is set to become a permanent fixture in the offshore racing landscape.
With its 1,200 miles, the Trin'40 aims to be both a learning ground and a talent showcase. It highlights the very essence of the Class40: a competitive, accessible fleet where human commitment remains at the heart of the game. No artifice. No detours. Just a sailor, his boat and the ocean.
This race tells the story of the beginning of a history : A race built around performance, progress and high standards; a story that will grow with each edition.
An organisation led by Class40
Created and organised by Class40, Trin'40 marks an important milestone: for the first time, the class is responsible for the entire organisation of one of its own races. This demonstrates a clear desire to structure and control its sporting calendar, while offering a format that meets the expectations of the skippers.
To guarantee a rigorous and safe sporting environment, Class40 draws on the recognised expertise of the Société Nautique de La Trinité-sur-Mer (SNT), a long-standing partner of major nautical events.
